I’m delighted to announce my latest project – The Happy Gut Guide (HGG), co-authored with Madeleine Shaw.
The HGG is 12-week self-care programme designed to help IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) sufferers take control of their symptoms.
Research suggests up to 1 in 7 people in the UK will experience IBS symptoms at some point in their life, yet the support services for this life-impacting condition are extremely limited. There is no ‘cure’ for IBS, and the main treatment options involve making changes diet and lifestyle.
So where do you start with IBS? How can you take control of your symptoms?
The Happy Gut Guide has been designed to help answer these questions because I have seen how difficult it is for sufferers to access support services – with some being told to ‘look it up online’ or ‘go and drink peppermint tea’.
Seeing a dietitian privately can cost hundreds of pounds – and I know not everyone has the opportunity to do this. The alternative – accessing a dietitian through your G.P. – can take many months – or may not even be available in your area.
We wanted to help by creating a programme which would empower individuals with IBS to start taking control of their symptoms now.
This isn’t just about diet – it’s a 360 degree approach which includes mindset, movement and meals, with clear and accessible advice.
The Happy Gut Guide launches on January 7th 2019 – to find out more, and register to hear the latest updates and offers, visit www.happygutguide.co.uk
